My name is Ruoyu Lan. I am from Guangzhou, China. Before joining MIT, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Atmospheric Science at Sun Yat-sen University, where I engaged in climate dynamics and atmospheric chemistry modeling research in Asian Monsoon Region. I enjoy a wide range of hobbies from playing the piano, sketching, jogging, and traveling.
I am interested in the interplay between the built environment, anthropogenic emissions of heat and pollutants and their impacts on people. My research deals with atmospheric chemistry modeling of agriculture residue burning and potential intervention analysis to inform sustainable measures regarding the mitigation of the impacts of burning and associated emissions on air quality and public health.
