The MIT Laboratory for Aviation and the Environment hosts the operational headquarters of the outgoing FAA Center of Excellence for aviation noise and emissions mitigation (PARTNER), and co-hosts the headquarters for the replacement FAA Center of Excellence for alternative jet fuels and environment (ASCENT). ASCENT is currently being stood-up and will incorporate much of PARTNER’s research efforts in aviation and the environment, with a significantly expanded alternative jet fuels portfolio. ASCENT is co-led by Washington State University (fuels lead) and MIT (environment lead).
