I am from Boulder, Colorado and am currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at MIT. I am focusing in propulsion and turbo-machinery. My research in LAE is focused on developing electrohydrodynamic (EHD) propulsion as a potential alternative propulsion technology for air vehicles This project is aimed to test the feasibility of EHD as a highly efficient thrust mechanism requiring no moving parts for jet propulsion. Previous work demonstrates that the achievable thrust to power ratio for EHD is comparable to or better than alternative devices. This project will attempt to determine if the technology can be scaled to larger applications.
